WOW is literally the only word I have to say due to the fact that I am well over 50% fully funded for my World Race!

If we’re being honest I never thought I’d ever get to do the World Race. It was something that only the cool kids did, and they were able to raise money pretty quickly due to the people around them, and there’s no way that I could ever do that.

Wellllll, on July 11th of 2020 I audibly heard the Lord tell me that I was in fact going to apply for the race. To which I replied with a curse word because I knew it was Him, and I knew I had to do it, even when I didn’t want to.

Since I was later to the game for the October route I was called to (applications ended July 20th), I had to put down a $3500 deposit in order to get a spot on the squad that was launching. I remember Casey, the woman on the phone, asking me “yeah so is that amount something you can do?” to which I replied a confident, “yeah for sure I’ll figure it out!” All the while I had $17 in my bank account and I was living on faith that I would have it if I needed it and if God wanted me to do this route/the world race in general.

Well, the literal day before I had to secure my spot, a check from the unemployment office (6 weeks worth of payments that I had been waiting for since March when I got laid off), hit my bank account with the sum of $3,545.

Well, that’s just about as much confirmation as I could have gotten.

Since then, I’ve had people so graciously donate the insane amount of $8,500 putting me at the amount of $11,000 of my $17,700 I need for the race.

Time after time again the Lord has assured me that He is going to provide what I need. I’ve missed a few fundraising deadlines and I am supposed to be fully funded by the end of this month, but I still have a ways to go.

Even with no fundraiser in mind, or no leads on any more donations, I have confidence that He will provide the funds I need. It doesn’t need to be today, nor does it mean I’ll get pulled off the race if it doesn’t happen, but it will.

I remember each and every time I’ve ever needed money I’d get random babysitting jobs, random checks, and just people loving me when they didn’t even know I needed it the most. And I know that will continue to happen in absolute abundance, and I can’t wait to tell the story when it does!

If you feel lead to donate you can cashapp/venmo me, or donate through this blog!

I love you all, thank you for listening to Him and supporting my journey!

One response to “Why Does “Fundraising” Have the Word FUN in it?”

  1. Kristin, you had me chuckling from the moment I read your title for this blog! The testimonies you described brought tears of joy to my eyes. I can not imagine this squad without you. God is so good!
